As part of Baku Climate Action Week (BCAW), the United Nations in Azerbaijan, in collaboration with BCAW, organized third edition of the "Walk the Talk" initiative, bringing together stakeholders from across society to promote dialogue and collaboration on climate action.With the support of Trendyol and PASHA Holding, the event featured a 1.5-kilometre symbolic  walk along Baku Boulevard, together participants from various sectors of society, including government officials, UN representatives, civil society organizations, persons with disabilities, the private sector, and young peopleThe walk started at Flag Square and concluded at the Baku Eye, providing participants with an informal and inclusive setting to exchange ideas, foster partnerships, and engage in meaningful conversations on climate change. By taking discussions beyond traditional conference rooms, the initiative aimed to strengthen connections among diverse stakeholders and encourage collective action in addressing climate challenges. The event opened with welcoming remarks by Nigar Arpadarai, High-Level Climate Champion and Member of Parliament of Azerbaijan, and Dmytro Shlapachenko, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan. In their addresses, they emphasized the importance of collaboration, dialogue, and shared responsibility in advancing climate action and building a more sustainable future."Walk the Talk" reflects the United Nations' commitment to creating spaces where people from different sectors and backgrounds can come together to exchange perspectives and identify opportunities for cooperation. The initiative aligns with broader efforts to mobilize communities and partners around climate action and sustainable development. By bringing together policymakers, development partners, academics, civil society representatives, and citizens, the event demonstrated the value of inclusive engagement in addressing one of the defining challenges of our time. The United Nations in Azerbaijan remains committed to supporting partnerships and initiatives that transform dialogue into action and contribute to a greener, more resilient future for all.
