General comment No. 20 (2016) of UN Committee on the Rights of the Child on the implementation of the rights of the child during adolescence

In the present general comment, the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child provides guidance to States on the measures necessary to ensure the realization of the rights of children during adolescence, cognizant also of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. General Comment provides States with guidance on the legislation, policies and services needed to promote comprehensive adolescent development consistent with the realization of their rights.

What are General Comments?: Each of the UN treaty bodies publishes its interpretation of the provisions of its respective human rights treaty in the form of “general comments”.
