Women in the private sector in Azerbaijan: opportunities and challenges
The study, examining the difficulties and opportunities faced by women in the private sector, aims to carry out analyzes that will contribute to the efforts of government agencies, the private sector and civil society in promoting women’s empowerment in the economic field. The report explores tendencies on women’s employment opportunities, provision of decent jobs and gender-based factors preventing successful career development in the private sector, as well as other elements that ensure successful participation of women and men in the sector.
The study began in November 2016 and lasted until May 2017. Data used during the study was collected through focus groups and follow-up interviews with key respondents. Data collection process was implemented in Baku and other regions (Khazar district of Baku, Guba, Saatli, Sheki, Lankaran and Gabala).
