COVID-19 Vaccination Support project factsheet
The European Union (EU) and World Health Organization (WHO) joint COVID-19 Vaccination Support project has presented the project results. The Project provides technical support to national health partners in various areas to strengthen the routine immunization measures and the response to the COVID-19 pandemic. In this regard, 1,800 vaccinators, 2,900 doctors and nurses, as well as over 3,000 medical students through the academic personnel have been provided with the detailed information on COVID-19 vaccines. Within a short period of time, cumulative course registrations made by Azerbaijani healthcare workers on the OpenWHO online training platform increased tenfold up to 18,000 enrolments.
During the first project implementation year, 300 vaccine refrigerators, voltage stabilizers, temperature monitoring devices along with 122 vaccine carriers, 102 computers, 79 printers and 79 UPSs were delivered to national health facilities. At the same time, to strengthen infection prevention and control (IPC), vaccination sites in 8 regions assessed and recommendations provided on IPC measures.
