Good morning, esteemed Rector, faculty members, colleagues, and students,
Thank you to the leadership of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) for the warm welcome. It is a privilege to be here with you today.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, eight decades of unwavering commitment to peace, development, and multilateral cooperation.
It is a moment not only to reflect on our shared progress, but to look ahead with purpose and resolve.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) remain our collective blueprint for a more equitable, resilient, and sustainable future.
They call for inclusive growth, decent work, innovation, sustainable food systems, and responsible stewardship of natural resources. These are not abstract ideals; they are economic imperatives.
And they demand the full engagement of governments, institutions, academia, young people.
SDGs are not only social goals, but they are also powerful economic drivers. They shape investment priorities, influence trade and employment strategies, and guide national planning.
Universities such as UNEC play a vital role in equipping future leaders
